Some Summer Energy-Saving Tips

7/8/2013

Cooling costs are typically the most highest percentage of energy expense in the summertime.  Here are some easy, common-sense tips that can help you save.

  • One degree can change your energy costs by 3 percent, so turn your temperature up while at work during the day.
  • Keep the drapes closed during the day. Sunshine will warm up your house very quickly.
  • Run your clothes dryer in the early morning or at night (your conditioned air is being exhausted to the outside).
  • Run your dishwasher also at night and do not use the DRYING FEATURE, air dry only.
  • Plant shade trees around your home and around your air conditioning condensing unit (the unit outside your house).
  • Have your air conditioner clean and checked each spring, this allows it to run more efficiently.
  • And of course, having your air ducts cleaned will allow for the indoor air to move easier, easing the force on your blower motor. We can help you with that!

Nobody cleans cleaner than DUCTZ of Noblesville.
